PlayLab is a game design and development studio focusing on “meaningful games” that convey a message through fun, innovative, addictive game play. At its core, PlayLab stands on a solid foundation of research on behavior modification and game play methods and technology and builds on its experience in virtual worlds and mainstream PC and console games for the Sony PlayStation, Nintendo,and Microsoft platforms. PlayLab’s core competency is the design and development of games that convey a meaning in which players, through repetitive game play, receive a meaningful message that can be related to education, awareness of environmental issues, changing attitudes towards drug use, and healthy living, among other topics. PlayLab headquarters of more than 10,000 sqft is located at InnoCentre, Kowloon Tong, and at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong; our facilities include a TV and motion capture studio, a sound mixing, game development and research lab, and a high-end training centre. |
